I guess I'm reviving this blog? XD

Seeing as I'm going to have so much free time on my hands on my last semester in college, I think I'll be reviving the weekly manga updates. I just wish I can maintain this stint and not fall off the grid after a few months into it. Cross your fingers for me guys! :3

no updates for ANY of the WSJ series we've been following.. :D We're still waiting for this Friday's release. -sigh- I'm so sorry for slacjing for the past 6 weeks.. ;A; I just.. got a little busy with uni stuff, then some family stuff, then some friends stuff, then some uni stuff again, then some more uni stuff again.. -sigh- But at least I remebered to go back here, right? :D


ANYWAY, Bloody Monday is progressing very nicely. There's even a special pariticipation of a Filipino brother-sister duo in there, so go check it out... XD Although the Filipinos do play the antagonists... XD Oh but their roles are so fun.. >D


Ahaha, I've fallen out of 07-Ghost, but it's progressing nicely as well, last time I checked, manga-wise and anime-wise. Usual resources can be found at onemanga.com and realitylapse.com. Oh, and of course, we have to thank Yuurisan subs for subbing 07-Ghost.


Speaking of Yuurisan subs, they're also [co]subbing DOGS! YATTA! XD I've been wanting to get into that fandom for a long time now, but I just could not find the time to start reading the manga. But now, we have the anime [subbed too] thanks to the mentioned subbing group.


ALSO Katekyo Hitman Reborn! XD The anime has started showing the Arcobaleno Arc WEEKS ago, so haha, go check that.. o.o I haven't seen it myself, but I heard that everything happening in the anime IS canon, according to Akira Amano. :D


Mangawise, reborn is stuck in the Choice game with Byakuran.. which they lost, of course. Ah, and Irie has finally revealed what everything was all about - the time travel shit, and that curious comment 25!Lambo said in the Varia arc. :D


Naruto.. well, Sai's said some more yaoi-image-inducing comments.. god, this kid will be the death of me someday.. saying stuff like, "Everytime I see Naruto I can feel the heat from his gut," ... things like that.. o.o But of course we have some classics, like Naruto saying, "Sasuke.. Where are you now? What are you doing? Are you thinking of me [Sakura and Kakashi]?"

Anime-wise, two weeks ago they showed Kakashi Gaiden.. :D Lalalalalala~~ <33333 It's -the Kakashi-childhood-Obito-Sharingan-rock-boulder-splat-eye-transplant-lalalalala arc. :D GO WATCH! [Because I haven't, and I need you to tell me how it it is!]


Bleach.. urk. Bleach is still Bleach, progressing very nice and slow. Hmm, although Soi Fon and that Vaizard-guy-whose-name-I-can't-be-bothered-to-remember-who-has-the-same-power-as-Orihime have curiously compatible [combine-able?!] bankai. O.O Go see, I command you! Although what I'd like to know is what's going on with Shinji and Aizen.. XDDD



And I think that's it for the updates? I'm in a little bit of a rush because I have to run to class in a few minutes.. so.. :D This Friday we have no classes so expect a little bit more. :D



OH! And new chapters for the NEW POT. :D I also already have the scanse for Nora Vol 1 ready for upload. Expect all that on Friday. :D

Yes, so after more than two months of inactivity, I'm back! Actually, I got busy and then got sick and then got busy again in the whole span of that two months of inactivity, so I wasn't even able to update once a week. So sorry.. ;;;

But I haven't been slacking off fandom-wise, of course! In the span of my absence, I've already watched the latest Naruto Movie, Kizuna. And ftw, there is cowboy Sasuke there, people. COWBOY. O.O

Aside from cowboy Sasuke, Naruto gains another fangirl. XD  Good for Naruto, right? Since things aren't looking too good for him in the manga... 

And from Bleach! Well, I haven't seen the latest movie yet (is it out already?), but I'll be posting something about that when I do.

Eyeshield 21 has ended! The last chapter was 333, a good number to stop. It was.. well, unlike most shounen types, it doesn't make you cry in that I'm-inspired-and-I'm-manly-but-this-youthful-ending-just-makes-me-cry way... I actually found the ending very funny, as I did with the entire series. Good work, ES21! We'll really miss you! If it weren't for this manga, I would have never ventured into the Reborn fandom or Gintama.

Speaking of Reborn, there has been a lot of developments! Crazy developments, whoa. Tsuna's and Yamamoto's box animals have been revealed, and they're already fighting with the REAL Six Wreaths of the Millefiore. Anime-wise, starting later today, they will be featuring the Arcobaleno arc, so be sure to read and watch. Amano-sensei said that the anime version of the Arcobaleno arc will be CANON. I wonder how they're going to pull it off...

Gintama has reached 160+ episodes! WHOOO! They're already into their fourth year, so lets support Gintama and buy those pretty merchandise! We wouldn't want them to be pulled off the air mid-year, would we? Manga-wise, there has been new development regarding Yoshiwara. There's going to be another Yoshiwara-related arc, focusing on Tsukuyo this time. Of course Gin saves the day... but there will be great surprises concerning his sensei... XD

Regarding that... I think Gin is an orphan. Perhaps he never met his parents, and he has lived all his childhood like a scavenger. It would only make sense... what with that image from that chapter... >D  If you want to know what I'm talking about, head over the mangahelpers and look up the latest translations of Gintama.

FMA Brotherhood is here! Although I haven't actually seen more than just the trailers. Is it good? Can anyone tell me? But of course, I'd still probably watch it. After all, it is FMA. (And I really can't get enough of Ed XD)

I've recently bought an Elizabeth pillow! It's very comfy! I'll post pics later. :D

I'm already in third year this year. Gah. I'm a little scared of growing up.. it all seems too fast. But then, I also want to get a job already, because I want to be able to afford the things I want. Selfish reason, yes, but I want to feel a little bit more independent. If I have to crawl through shit to get to that, I would. Hardships just make the end result feel even better.

I've also recently purchased an mp5 player. What's an mp5? Well, it's the same as an mp4 player, only there's an added file type that it can play. It can play .rm and .rmvb files, so it's really great, since I almost get all of my video downloads from RealityLapse. Also, Real Media files take smaller space, so I can store more.

My phone (which turned three years old this May) gave me a big surprise just the other day. According to its manual, the maximum capacity of flash storage (memory card) it can support is only up to 2GB. But then, crazy me tried to play songs with it stored in an 8GB mem card. I think the card was 80-90% full (about 6-7GB), so it was waaaay over the cited maximum memory. I thought the phone was going to crash, but... it actually worked! It played the files without crashing - although it did take a few seconds more than usual to load the first file.

So the phone is an LG KU250. It's an old-ish model, and 8GB mem cards for phones weren't that popular when the phone first came out. It was actually already top of the line back then when it came out with 2GB mem capacity. So it was a big surprise for me when I found out that it can hold up to 8GB. I wanted to try out 16GB, but I think that would be a bit too much.

Anyway, about the mp5. Internal capacity is 4GB, but is expandable up to something.. I'm not sure. The manual said it could only be expandable up to 2GB, but I'm actually using another 8GB mem card with it. And it plays. Without crashing. Again, I want to test a 16GB, and I do think it can support a mem card with that big capacity, but I have no mroe money to buy a 16GB mem card. It costs a lot. ;A;

On to other news, D. Gray Man is on hiatus again! Last time it was because of Hoshino-sensei's health... this time around, s/he (is Hoshino-sensei a guy? Sorry;;;) is being sued for copying some other sensei's work! The other party involved is none other than Death Note's Obata. (Or Ohba. I'm not sure if it's the artist or the writer... sorry..) So DGM fans, we're going to have to wait again to find out what happens to Allen and his inner Noah... ;;; 

I really hope it doesn't get discontinued.

Anyway, moving on! I've picked up to relatively new series! First one is 07_ghost; both anime and manga versions are available online. Onemanga and RealityLapse, please. Dattebayo Subs is doing the anime, kudos!

It's somewhat complicated, and I'm afraid I won't do it justice if I tried to explain the plot. But it's about this kid, Teito Klein, a boy who has no memories of his past and is a member of the Army. But after a certain incident, he recovers some of his memories - realizing that one of the army bosses killed someone important to him when he was still a child. He leaves the army and ends up hiding in the church, still trying to rediscover all of his past. While there, he stumbles upon a great secret concerning a thousand year old legend of evil death gods and fallen angels... and further on, he finds out that he was involved in a war of empires in the past, and that his existence could very well incite another war that would threaten to destroy the entire world.

Well.. it's not exactly that. I left a lot of details out because I didn't want to spoil anything. Anime version has already more than 10 episodes out. Manga version has up to chapter 38. Try it out, it's quite fun. Although the art is shoujo, the plot somewhat shoujo, the seiyuu are very kyaaah-worthy. We have Suwabe-san voicing one of the major characters here... and I think the one voicing Teito is Wolfram's seiyuu?

Second series is Bloody Monday, which I just picked up exactly 12 hours ago. :D  It's about Fujimura Takagi, a middle schooler (but then it says in another site that he's in high school, I don't know which is official) who is the son of a secret agent. He seems like a normal kid, but what everyone doesn't know is that he's a super genius when it comes to computers - he's actually a famous hacker called "Falcon" who exposes the crimes of illusive criminals by hacking into their computers and plundering their secrets. >D

What happens is that he and his father encounter an organized crime organization bigger than what they can handle... and they don't even know that two years prior, they were already being incorporated as major players in a cleverly planned mass massacre.

I forgot how I ended up with this one... I think I was browsing something.. looking for something Gintama related when I stumbled upon this.. AH! Right, I remember now! There was an update regarding the latest best selling manga poll. Of course the BIG3 are on top (Naruto, One Piece and Bleach), followed by a manga I couldn't be bothered to read up on, then I think it was Reborn already..? Or was it Gintama, I'm not sure, but I specifically remember Bloody Monday being listed in the top ten. It got me curious, as there were only three titles in the top ten that I wasn't familiar with. So I checked them all out, one was as I've already mentioned before, not worth mentioning (SHOUJO). Two was.. well, it wasn't enticing enough for me. But the third got me hooked even just with the summary. 

So I looked it up and found that there was a manga version up in Onemanga. I've been reading it since last night, and WHOA. XDDDD GREAT!

I find it interesting that although the protagonist is a genius, he's also naive. Or stupid. Too trusting! -shakes head-  It's probably one of the characteristics I like most about him. He's got the brains, yes, but he acts like a real kid. XD

Of course, there are slashy characters. There's his guy best friend, the only person other than his dad to know that he's the famous hacker. But then, there's also a tsundere-like girl character who likes him and is also his childhood friend. And of course, he has a sister who has a crush on his best friend (and vice versa, I think), so my yaoi dreams have already been crushed to death even before they had a chance to start. Anyway, I don't think there'd be time for any lovey-dovey coupley stuff with this one, since the pace is fast. That, and you'd really get distracted by the boobs. ;;;

Man-target manga? Definitely. For girls? Only those who like things like I do. The suspense-action-scifi-thriller-bloody-gore parts make up for the lack of yaoi. >D  It may sound surprising, but I do like a lot of things outside yaoi. I just prefer it over everything else. >D

Other other other news: I met up with a new friend over the summer. It was one of those rare days that I didn't have much to do, and I wasn't sick. We met up in Greenbelt and had lunch somewhere near SM. She's also a KHR fan, and a yaoi one at that. She was the one who introduced 07_ghost to me, and I'd really want to thank her. XD  Also, I pair her with Dino from Reborn, just because I like teasing her. Chumee! -waves- HEEEEEY! XD  Not that you're going to read this, but... :D

Also, a friend of mine has shifted from OrCom to Community Nutrition in UP Diliman. I was sad for a while because she was a dear friend, and I would have wanted her to stay. But she wants to fulfill her dreams, and shifting is the way to go. I hope she's doing well there. Friend, good luck and good bye. We'll see each other again, for sure. 

Classes! I have a weird schedule, but I brought it upon myself. I have classes on Saturdays! Gah. I hope this doesn't mean I'd be slacking off with the updates again. I'll try to be more diligent with this. YOSH.

Since it's already time for me to go (I have classes to get to, and I still haven't prepared for class), I'll end it here for now. I'll be doing another post later tonight when Naruto and Bleach (and hopefully Reborn) comes out. I'll also post updates about Nora: The Last Chronicle of Devildom and Vassalord. Anyway, Naruto kicks ass this week again! Whooo! He uses up the sage chakra, but he's still able to finish Pain with the move Jiraiya taught him. Last week we saw him talk to the 4th Hokage, and the guy left him with the most cryptic message ever: You can do it, I believe in you, blah blah blah.. : D

Naruto pulls through with his favorite techniques, though. And we can remember that last week he was already able to locate the real location of Pain. : O Does this mean Pain's end is near? : O

Next week's release can't come soon enough, XD


Bleach: Chapter 352

But he's still in his hollow mode, D: And the others [read: ISHIDA] are getting worried, D: Has Ichigo finally gone over the end? Is the old Ichigo never going to come back? Has Ishida lost the love of his life? XDDD [See IshiIchi moment on page 9]

What are the other going to do about Ichigo? D: Actually, Ishida's already doing something, although I don't think it's very wise of him.. [see page 12]. It makes for a very hot IchiIshi moment though, right? :D

-Sigh- But this has got to be the most confusing chapter yet. Is Ishida seriously hurt? Is he even alive?! And what the hell happened to that in the last panels, I couldn't really understand D: Inoue you whiny bitch, stop whining already. D: Oh god, mananaggal!Ulqui. D:

Oh I miss Hiruma. Lately I haven't been paying attention to him, D: I've been so caught up with Gin-chan and Gokudera and Naruto and Ishida.. D: I feel like I've betrayed him! : O

SO I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that the cover page was the ever devlish Hiruma. YA-HA!

So anyway, I missed last week's release, but basically what happened was that Sena and Panther had a show down and Panther won. D: Sena used all the tricks he knew, but Panther just was too good for him. Sena somewhat loses heart, but Shin.. well, Shin's about to do something I think.

And by the end of last week's release, Agon and Gaou have already teamed up in order to bring both Clifford and Mr. Don down. Ohohohoho, this unlikely pair... I wonder what's going to happen!

This week's release actually starts off with just that, Gaou vs. Mr. Don. Ugh. Ah, but nothing really happens as first, Sena just almost gets crushed like a roach by Don. More talk about the Delta dynamite, but the real first star we see in this week's release is Musashi and his super kick. Whoooo awesome, old man! Hiruma looks really proud, ohohoho~

Agon and Gaou keep trying to team up against Don, but they fail. Meanwhile, the Shin-Panther showdown begins! Shin knows that Panther has the speed advantage, but Panther also knows that Shin has the strength advantage. Considering this, they choose their best techniques...

And the winner is ...

Panther. : D

Oh dear. Oh dear dear dear. Even Shin can't stop Panther. D: What's Sena going to do? What's Hiruma going to do? D: Come to think of it, that NASA guy's right. Hiruma hasn't done anything spectacular yet, has he? What's he planning? Is he even planning? D: D: D: This is bad. This is really bad.. is Team Japan just going to lose like this? D:

Ohohoho, but there's a really interesting conversation between Hiruma and Agon. : D In the last pages, Hiruma asks Agon to "go back to the old times" so to speak. Mmmhhmmm.. interesting. Hey Musashi, someone's moving into your teritory. XD orz But Kurita's expression has got me wondering... what does he mean by "the two demons teaming up again"..? XDDDD I'm so curious I'm about to explode! I want to see the next chapter right now! XDDDD

Anyway, I'm late on the news. I haven't seen rycolaa's page in a long while, and I doubt they're the ones who are scanlating this. o.o Just.. just.. o.o

I want to laugh. I mean, come on! Haven't we all gotten enough of PoT already? Why do we have to do this all over again? OTL What, is this supposed to be the high school version now? D: And in the spread, why are Tezuka and Fuji in the background, hmm? ---> yep, that was my main concern. Well, excuse me for being a perfect pair fan! XD

Still we have some great shots of Ryoma's back. -insert creepy fangirl smile here- Ah, the joys of tenipuri. Boys with no care whatsoever that their shirts are revealing their body parts. :D Oh and of course, Ryoma demonstrates to use the proper use of a tennis ball and a racket. And on page 12: Miracle boy: is that a reference to the musicals? Uh yes, there was a song in the musicals, way back with the first cast. There was a line that somewhat went like this: Shiiteru ka? | You know? | Aitsu ga tennis no miracle boy~ |

Uh yeah, something like that. It basically means, "Do you know? You know? He is a [tennis genius] miracle boy." Erm, something like that.

Anyway, I can't seen to stop talking about this. XD I guess I missed the fandom more than I thought, even if I'm complaining. And is that a cute neclace our Ryochan is wearing? It seems like something [Fuji] Sakuno might give him, orz. [See page 13]

I never thought I'd come back to this fandom. I really thought I was over this fandom. I never thought I'd see the day when I [openly] fangirl about EIJI again, OTL. And hey, wait a minute, I thought Kawamura was quitting tennis? T^T Oh fandom, why are you back!? I thought I was over you already! [cue: Just when I thought I was over you~]

Ah, this is so nostalgic. T^T and Fuji, why so beautiful? You're going to attract unwanted attention because of that pretty face. Tezuka's going to have a hard time defending you... XD Speaking of which, did anyone else notice that Tezuka and Fuji's speech bubble on page 20? Ohohoho, I'll give a cookie to anyone who gets what I'm trying to say, XD

Although I'm a bit confused... Isn't Kaidoh the Buchou now? Why.. uhm, in page 22, Momo calls Oishi as the vice captain... which is weird, since Momo is the vice cap-

OH! Time skip! Right. Or more accurately, this is set just before the third years quit the team. : D Ahahah, that got me a little confused. Haaaaay, but what more are we going to see in this sequel? Man, I would have cheered if the "sequel" were actually about Nanjirou or something... that would have been more interesting. Well, anyway, we'll just have to see what happens here, right? Although I'm kind of wishing that it won't take another decade just for this damn sequel to finish. : |

Updates:

My internet died on me a few days ago. My ISP said they were doing some revamp-maintenance thing, so I just had to wait. I had my doubts since I had just also reformatted my laptop - and I was thinking that it was because of that reformatting that the settings had gone haywire.

And so... I've had no internet connection for the past week. Exactly a week today, actually. Haha, so that makes it six days then. Still, that's the longest I've gone without internet use for six years now. And to think I had to miss the Naruto release date because of it. D:

On a lighter note, my test paper got lost and was never checked by one of my professors, so now I have to retake the exam. Some of my friends advised me to go to the dean and complain, but I was thinking of just going through the retake. Too much hassle on my part if I go to the dean; I don't really have the time to spare. Besides, I'd be able to prepare for the exam this time around, since I was totally unprepared the last time. Unfair to the others, yes. But they don't have to retake an exam, do they?

D. Gray Man: 179th Night

It's baaaaaaaaack~ XDDDD

After a long wait, the manga is finally back, guys! XD This is so cool.. I know we've all been waiting for the manga to come back, and finally, here it is! XD

So last time, we were left with a newly discovered Exorcist, Link, who was turned into a doll, Allen battling a Level 4, Kanda and Marie battling another Level 4 (with Marie losing two fingers), and with everything seeming so hopeless. This release give us new hope, as we learn just how powerful Timothy's powers really are...

Divine Possession - what Timothy calls his innocence. You have to see it, it's incredible. I wonder if they'd ever have to animate this one.. would be so cool if they did. XD So the kid uses his Innocence to possess the Akuma, and voila! A new personality appears! But this new personality kind of looks like an older version of Timothy, lol... <3>

But back to the story... so Timothy finally activates his Innocence properly, and it eats [?] the Akuma's souls... I don't really get what his Innocence is doing aside from possessing the Akuma's bodies... it looks really weird, but I figured it was indeed eating the Akuma souls... : | That's some nasty Innocence you've got there, kid. : |

His Innocence actually reminds me of Cross'. Remember Chomesuke? He was controlling her as well, but it was in a different league from Timothy's. Oh well, if Cross was still around I bet he would be Tim's mentor - which is a bad thing, 'coz we all know what Cross is like to his loving students, right? XD

Anyway, Tim finally gets his act together and decides that he's going to use his Innocence to fight off the Akuma. Fufufu~ I can't wait to see this kid in battle! <3>

Sidenote: How the F are we ever going to get Link to turn back into a human being!?

Did I get the title right? Oh, I hope I did. I have a very short attention span, see...

Anyway, I've been meaning to post something about this for weeks. I just couldn't get around to doing so... but here it is! I've been following this even before the anime release. Translated, Kuroshitsuji means The Black Butler, and it's about this one demon of a butler serving Her Majesty The Queen of England's cute Guard Dog. :D

Anyway, it's a fairly young series. The translated manga had only reached up to the 18th chapter, I think. And the latest subbed episode is the one posted above. Shinsen-Subs is doing it, which is good. They're fast and reliable. BleachExile is hosting direct downloads, but to get to them you'd have to be a member. It's for free, so no worries.

I didn't download, though. I watch it through Crunchyroll [or Veoh, whichever I find first].


Naruto: Chapter 426 @ NarutoChuushin

Naruto, don't give up!

It seems like I was wrong with my predictions! XD Filler-ish chapter this week, but we do see some progress [really?]... Ebisu is facing Pain to protect Konohamaru, but what does Konohamaru do? Oh dear, oh dear.. Naruto, the village really needs you back..

Main focus of this chapter, I think, was to illustrate how the adult ninjas have started to think of Naruto more as a ninja and less as the jinchuuriki. It warms me to see that, really, but I wasn't quite expecting it yet. I was thinking it would go nice in the latter chapters when we finally see the ending or something...

Anyway, what I was really looking forward to was Kakashi's "bonding time" with White Fang. :D Ah, well.. I guess we'll all just have to wait for it. Hopefully it comes soon. [Assuming that the Ino segment doesn't go right after the Ebisu one.. Oh wait, I'm forgetting about Ibiki! Damn.]


Bleach: Chapter 336 @ Bleach7

Actually, I should be mad or annoyed. This week's chapter has some anti-feminist themes to it, pertaining to how Matsumoto and Hinamori are portrayed as just too weak to fight the super powerful Arancar. But then again, Hinamori's really weak, and Matsumoto's boobs got in the way, I think..

Seriously though, it kind of seems like there's this notion that since they are both women, they should be beatne up like hell and be thrown to sidelines while letting the male characters do their parts [still, Kira and Shuuhei are back, so I'm not really all that upset]... But then, come to think of it, the opponents are women --- girl power after all? Ahahahahah, I'm not sure. I just hope that the Shinigami-tachi do win.

Actually, I had already written something about this - and in fact, I've already posted it. Or so I thought. I came back a few hours later just to find out that my damn draft wasn't posted successfully! Argh.. And it was a pretty lengthy post, too..

Anyway, a recap for this week's release: Focus shifts from Tsuna-Irie to the Varia ---- and OMG, it has been confirmed that XANXUS IS FIGHTING ALONG WITH HIS SUBORDINATES FUCKFUCKFUCK

KYYYYAAAAAAAAHHH!!! I can't wait to see Xanxus in action! But of course, we'd have to first witness Squalo beat the hell out of his opponents~ :D Aaaaaahhhnnn, Squalo~ We just got more proof of your sharky-ness~ Squalo has the same ring type as Yamamoto, right? Somehow the rain attribute doesn't seem to fit him, though... I keep thinking of Squalo as a storm type. :D

Why oh why couldn't Yamamoto get a cool box animal as Squalo..? Why? XD




I just wanted to repeat that D.Gray-Man is in hiatus. The mangaka has fallen sick, so he/she [I DON'T KNOW THE MANGAKA, FUCK.] will be taking a break from making manga. No one's sure when the series will be continued, if ever.

Some Gintama related stuff: I found some raws for Episode 134... Of course, it's Gintama, that's why I'm posting about it. But there's something really special about this episode... What's so special about it? >D We hear Gin-chan singing. YES, you heard [read?] it right, GIN-CHAN SINGING. :D

Again, I want to repeat that I've already written something, but somehow it didn't get posted. Damn. Annoying. Piece. Of. Fecal. Matter. Gr.

Anyway, what I typed before was basically about Dattebayo dropping Naruto and Rumbel-Subs dropping Soul Eater, Katekyoushi Hitman Reborn and D.Gray-Man. First, let's talk about DB.

So Viz Media, TV Tokyo and Crunchyroll have decided to gang up on us and release their brand of English-subbed online streams of some anime [which includes Naruto and Gintama. :D]. The deal is, you have to pay a subscription fee to get the streams asap, else you'll have to wait a week after the first release to see the free streams.

While this is cretainly great [I mean, not only will it be free, it will certainly be legal in all aspects], a lot of fans have become very wary of the quality of the releases. From what I've heard [which is totally unreliable and has not been counterchecked at all], they're planning on having the paid releases up only a day after the actual release in Japan --- which is extremely fast, considering that releasing subs is a very tasking job to do. [The free releases will be available a week or so after the paid releases, but at least they're free. :D] One just has to wonder what kind of releases this fast production will give us, and one just can't shake off the fear that the releases would be crappy as hell.

But then again, if they are just planning to release soft subs, I guessa a day would suffice [especially since these are BIG companies and not unpaid, small subbing groups]. No worries, too, for people not living in the US since it's supposed to be a worldwide thing. :D

Dattebayo, subber of Naruto [and other anime which are not really of our concern right now], has decided to drop Naruto from their active projects because of the deal I described above. A lot of fans are reacting [try outraged], but I don't really see the point. Personally, I'd prefer the LEGAL subs since it's all LEGAL, and the group has certainly made its decision. Yes, there have been [a lot of times] before when DB announced that they would be dropping Naruto [aaah, the fun times.. DB screwing with our heads.. :D], but it's serious this time, I think [unless they're planning on making an underground channel of some sort]. Fans should just shut up and deal, really. We wouldn't be able to do anything about it, anyway, seeing as the group has already set their minds to it. We can't force them not to. End of story.

And besides, there would still be free subs. Just a little late, but still there. Although I'd prefer the DB releases because of the quality, but then again, we haven't really seen the quality of the crunchyroll releases, so we can't really give judgements right away.


On the other hand, Rumbel-Subs has received three Cease and Desist letters from FUNimation for the subbed releases of the following anime: Soul Eater, Katekyoushi Hitman Reborn and D.Gray-Man. Of the three, D.Gray-Man seems to be least of the fans' concerns, seeing as the series had stopped airing a while back [I posted something about it before, go check it out through the right side bar]. While I personally don't really care about Soul Eater [I don't watch it, sue me], I find it a little funny and annoying that a lot of people are saying that dropping these three projects was for the best --- because there'd be more time to work on the Gintama releases. Funny because I agree. Annoying because it kind of ruins the image of Gintama fans - it makes us seem too uncaring for the fans of other series.

While it's true that I couldn't care less about SE and KHR [the anime version, anyway], I don't think people should rejoice because they got dropped. Not only is it mean and inconsiderate, it's downright scary. Ever heard of [bad] KARMA, people? Gintama just might get dropped because of this. Divine Retribution doesn't spare anyone.

Which brings me to this: If Rumbel-Subs didn't think twice before dropping their projects because of the legalities [FIGURATIVELY. I'm not saying they didn't try to find a way around it], then isn't it logical that they'd also drop Gintama if and when Viz Media asks them to? Remember that Gintama's included in the list of anime in the Crunchyroll ordeal [Or it's supposed to. I remember reading it somewhere, but I've forgotten exactly where]. Does that mean that Rumbel would drop EVEN Gintama? D:

It's possible. Or not. I don't really know. I wish they wouldn't. I don't think any other subber could make such fitting subs as they could, considering that Gintama is full of cultural jargons. Naruto's actually easier to sub, I think, since it's an AU world where the references are mostly made up just for that universe. Gintama's set in an AU world, too, but the references have to be researched and explained in order for foreign fans to understand them. I hope the new subbers would realize that and use that knowledge to their advantage. Gintama just CAN'T be funny if the audience doesn't understand the "inside" jokes.

Gintama Chapters 50-67 has been translated + scanlated! OMG.

Get them at Maximum7 while they're still hot! There was a comm in livejournal that was going to do it too, but they've only done up to the 51st, I think... Anyway, I can personally vouch for Maximum7's scanlations. They're the sister group [are they even really sister groups? Aren't they just the same people?] of Bleach7, the ones I get updates from every weekend. : D


On to other news: D.Gray-Man Manga has been put on hiatus.

Sad news. But true. The mangaka has been suffering from a sickness [I'm not sure what it is, really], so the manga will be put on hold for a while. I'm willing to bet that it'll be a looooooong while, too. Damn, and the manga was just getting to the good parts. D:


Anyone here familiar with the series Twilight? Aaaah, Twilight. Another example of mainstreaming. What a joke.

I don't usually do mainstream --- as is obvioulsy exemplified by my anime/manga preference. Not obvious enough for you? Let me spell it out then: I, more often than not, do not follow mainstream anime. Examples of anime which [I think] belong to the mainstream category: Gundam Seed [+Destiny], Vampire Knight, Naruto, Bleach, Yugioh, Beyblade, Prince of Tennis among others...

Anyway, as I was saying, I usually don't do mainstream. If I ever do mainstream, it can only mean two things: ONE, I've been following the series even before it became the "IT" thing, and TWO, the series is really just that good.

So going back to the series I'm currently following, I think I just need to explain myself somehow. Of course, Gintama and Eyeshield21 are obviously not mainstream anime. Gintama for obvious reasons, Eyeshield21 because of the not-so-bishounen types of characters.

Naruto and Bleach - well, I've been with the Bleach fandom even before its [international] "boom"... which was what? Two, three.. four years ago? Naruto falls under the it's-really-just-that-good category.

D.Gray-Man... I'm not sure. Is it mainstream? Either way, I think it best fits the it's-really-just-that-good category, too. Prince of Tennis.. ahahah. Prince of Tennis is like something you don't really want to spend your time on but end up doing so anyway. It's just that hypnotic, I think. [Plus, we're talking about playing with balls here. Heheh.]

Wait, I haven't been able to define what mainstream is, have I? Mainstreaming.. it means that people only follow a series because it's the popular, "IT-IN" thing...

So Seed, VK, those other IT-IN animes/mangas.. they're all mainstream. And I really don't get why people need to watch the in thing, have the in thing, be the in thing in order for them to be cool. I watch Gintama, and I think it's cool. I read P2 - Let's Play Ping Pong manga, and even though it's really dorky and quirky, I still think it's cool enough. I don't think people have to always be "IN" in order for them to be cool. I think cool people are the ones who are different, actually. Crowding is such an uncool, cowardly thing to do.

[I just remembered that I forgot to mention Katekyo Hitman Reborn. :D Again, I've been with the fandom even before the so-called international "boom" of it.]

So going back to the Twilight series... what's so great about it? Ahahah, I bet my smelly, moldy, hole-y old socks that more than 50% of all the fans of that series are only there because Twilight is the "IN" thing nowadays. Bigger than Harry Potter, even.

I don't want to argue about the content of Twilight, or if it really deserves the fame it's been getting. I haven't read the whole series, just some exerpts - and nope, sorry, I'm not idiotic enough to wage war on the rabid twilight eddiekins fangirls over some few passages of the shit that I have indeed read. [And let me tell you, those few passages could make even Shakespeare cry and tear his eyeballs out. Seriously.]

What I'm trying to say here is that mainstreaming is a really annoying phenomenon. Not only is it so annoyingly mindless, it's also very pathetic. People should just find fandoms they really do like and stick with those - and stop fandom hopping just because some friend told them that this certain fandom is better because everyone else thinks it's better. People should learn to think for themselves, choose for themselves. People should stop from letting the masses dictate them on everything - on the clothes they wear, the food they eat, the books they read, the shows they watch, the music they listen to.

I'm not really making much sense, as usual. I'm just rambling a lot, I guess. But I really feel strongly disappointed when I see people I consider friends just bowing to the mainstream gods and goddesses. Why let the wave take you when you can fight back and create a wave of your own? Celebrate your individuality! This mainstreaming... it's ruining our sense of uniqueness! I'm not saying that we shouldn't follow the maintream variety - there really are some very good maintream things - but that we should NOT follow a fandom because of it's popularity. There are other things out there which aren't really popular, but we may find them more to our liking than the "POPULAR" telenobela [soap opera], or the "IN" fashion, or the "HOT" music.


I want to rant some more, but I have to go wash some 100-year-old dishes first... (-______-)

We're treated to some tidbits of Oujou [Ootawara's still an idiot.. -___-], and we're presented with some bittersweet statements from Takami, which gets our hero thinking about his future after high school graduation... and Sena answers in a most predictable, but bittersweetly honest, JUMP-like manner..

And with this, the beautiful manga ends. Aaah, it was su-WAIT, SAY WHAT?!

But uhm. I have a stupid question. A really stupid one.


I haven't really been following the manga for long. I just started reading it when the anime ended, beginning with the chapter where the anime stopped [just before the Cross Marian thing..] So I'm not really sure about this, but is Noise Marie a girl? 'Cause in this chapter both Kanda and the Akuma refer to her as a female.. I though Marie was a male? I got that from the anime, of course, obviously.

So.. so.. Marie is a guy, right? And this was just a simple typo.. ahahahah.. -sweatdrop-

He's a guy, right? Right?!

Anyway, enough about that unknown sex of Marie. We now go to th reason why I almost forgot to update. :D

Just after the Prince of Tennis manga ended, I began to drift away from the fandom, in search of a new one. I didn't stick around to wait for the semi-finals of the Nationals Tournament, seeing as I already knew what was going to happen. Also, the few episodes of it that I did see made me cringe and rethink my decision to be a patient little fangirl and wait it out. [I saw Fuji's match with Shiraishi, MomoKai match and Kawamura's]

Disappointed at how [rushed] everything seemed, I started looking for newer [slashy] fandoms and came up with Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn. Yes, I do know the proper name of that series. I just prefer the shorter one. :D

Anyway, so I drifted to the Reborn fandom and at once fell in love with 8059 [which actually later morphed into Ry59, then 1859, then 5927, then back to 8059]. I followed both manga and anime to the latest, and when I had finished updating myself, I got the urge to add another fandom to the list ---- which later became Gintama.

Now while I was drifting further from the tenipuri fandom, I had already, long before that, drifted from the tenimyu fandom. I tried to follow that 3rd gen myus and the generations after, but I failed. I simply didn't have the enthusiasm to watch the myus anymore, seeing as the casts have changed [and it seemed to me that they were getting suckier each time.. no offence..]

The first myu I ever watched was that of Dream Live 1st. By the time I got around to watching that, the 1st gen cast had already graduated --- and I think the 2nd gen had already started rehearsals? Or maybe even performances, yeah.. But as anal as I am, I really strived to look for the 1st gen myus before venturing to the 2nd gen's.

So you can say I have a certain bias. Up till now, after seeing all the 1st gen myus [the ones available online, of course, not the actual performances] and all the 2nd gen myus and some 3rd gen, I still think that the 1st gen cast did the best job. Despite the fact that they probably have the most number of casted Ryomas, Fujis, Eijis and even Tezukas, you can't really help but love them [and of course, they have the perfect Golden Pair --- again, no offence to the fans of the other GPs..]

I held a soft spot for them for a long time, and while the prospect of a younger, [relatively fresher] batch was certainly appealing, I still would have liked for my old cast to play their characters longer. Or even until the myus ended, even.

But I guess the second cast had it's charm, and a very different one at that. It seems like majority of the fans didn't take too well with the change in casting, and according to some reports, the [early] shows of the 2nd gen weren't as popular as the first gen's. I think I even remember Kuji [or was it Kaji? Both of them, I think..] saying that they were disheartened at their first shows because there were vacant seats [read: rows] at the front, and it seemed like there were only a very few number of people interested in going..

But something happened, and the shows started picking up. A lot of comparisons were made, of course --- how the new Golden Pair just wasn't like the old one, how more Momo-ish MoriEiji was compared to Kaji, how un-Tezuka-like Shirotan was, how [messed up] the new Fuji's singing was.. stuff like that..

[notice that I didn't touch two of the major characters. :D I didn't touch Kotaro since we all know what happened to him. Kuji.. well, Kuji holds a special place in my heart, so.. :D)

But even then, I think what made the cast really shine was that they didn't give up, regardless of the negative comments. They held on to their professionalism and performed still --- and personally, I think that this characteristic of the 2nd cast earned them the fans' [new ones and old] respect, which in turn gave them this edge that fans, consciously or not, started to flock to.

When it was time for them to go, I felt really sad. For some time, I looked forward to the new cast, wondering what kind of personalities and new faces would greet us fans... but I never got around to actually fangirling over them. I guess I just kind of got turned off by the unavailability of the videos.

The point is, I had a good time with the 1st + 2nd gen, so I started looking into them more deeply. And of course, by looking deeply, I meant researching their other works, their lives, their fans.. I found a lot about the 1st gen GP, more specifically about Nagayama. :D Then, when I heard he did a movie with Aiba of 2nd gen, I flocked Aiba's fandom.

And I really didn't bother that much with the others. If someone were to be linked to Aiba because of a movie [Sukitomo], I'd flock to the person's fandom next. It was just an era of exploring for me, I think. A lot of new fandoms to try and all that. :D

Finally, I got settled with Aiba, Takumi, Nagayan and Ruito. Later I would add Shirotan, Kato and Kenta. Much later I would add Konii and Kuji. And then, much much much later, after seeing Treasure Box [and only because I heard Kuji was going to be there, hahah.. didn't even know Tuti + MoriEiji were the ones to look out for], I became a *pnish* fan. :D [and I guess I realized that Nagayan+Tuti were more than just simple friends after I delved into Tuti's life :D]

But then, the updates about these people began to slow down [I was really disheartened about Kuji's], and so my enthusiasm kind of slowed down as well. Then tenipuri ended, and I left the fandom completely. I had drifted into a new fandom [two, actually], and ever since then, I haven't really had much thought for the boys.

So why the sudden come back?

A friend kept fangirling about the Meganes albums, even asking me to show her the singles I bought from CDJapan. We talked about it a bit, and I kind of remembered the past..

So here I am, swamped with new info about two of the fandoms I've abandoned: Kujirai Kousuke + Tsuchiya Yuichi / Nagayama Takeshi. Uh. Tuti and Nagayan are considered here as a unit [or as a pair]. Well, that's a lie.. :D I actually follow them, too, as individuals, but I'm more inclined to seeing them together and fagirling about that.

And since I've been buried by all the info, I almost forgot to post this week's updates.. :D

So we wee Soi Fon get beat around a lot by Miss-Arancar-whose-name-escapes-me. Big deal. We already got to see a lot of character bashings [not that kind, dearies, I'm talking about Ulquiorra killing Ichigo, Ichigo fighting Grimmjow, Nnoitora bashing Ichigo's head, Nel interferring, Nnoitora bashing Nel, Kenpachi stealing the spotlight, Ishida going MIA... sigh...] already in the past chapters. Can we please see some plot development here?

I really like Bleach. I thought it had a good premise when it first started, but the fight scenes started to drag. Not unlike Yu Yu Hakusho, but that's another matter. Well, maybe it's not such a different matter...

But going back to Bleach. Soi Fon reveals her "plan" at the end of the chapter. (-______-) But we'll have to wait another week to actually know what the heck it is. (-__________-)

Anyway, this week we witness more of the Pain-Konoha battle-war-thing. Well, it's not really so much of a war or a battle, it's more of a massacre. Poor Konoha... Wonder what the old granny's going to do? Bash Pain's head in with her ginormous boobies, I guess.. :D [btw, that was a Jiraiya comment right there]

NEXT CHAPTER will clear up all the speculations about Kakashi "death". Don't take the use of quotation marks as a clue or something. I don't know myself whether Kakashi will live or die. Or maybe Iruka would suddenly appear out of nowhere and go Super Saiyan on Pain. Heh. That would be a blast.

Hahah, I'm a bit speechless. I knew it was coming, I guess, but seeing it actually happen... I mean, wow. Just WOW. The ending to this was far better than the end of Prince of Tennis, all the emotions running high and stuff like that. I actually think that Eyeshield21 is a more entertaining anime than Prince of Tennis - PoT just beats ES because of the bishie count [I mean, come on! More than half the entire population of the PoT fangirls watch the show to oogle some pretty boy character and go "kyaaaaah!" at him]. The ES boys aren't really all that bishie material [and it's just a bit later in the show that the main character actually becomes more aesthetically pleasing :D] - GREATEST EXAMPLE = GAOU XD

My point is that Eyeshield21 is really a great series [I wanted to say manga, but the anime has it's points], and it shouldn't be shunned or avoided just because of the lack of bishounen-like characters [and hey, the guys here actually crossdress. XD]. Fans should give it a chance - those fans who were put off by the anime, try reading the manga. There's a lot of difference, I think, between reading the series and watching it.

Page 15 really broke my heart. D: Sena, come on... Don't cry... there's still next year, dearie.. D:

The last page had me laughing a lot, though... Was Hiruma... really thrown... into the air..? O.O I find it hard to believe. O.O


Next chapter marks the end, I think... Will we see the face of Hiruma's dad in the next chapter? Awww, I really really really wanted to see his face!

I've been slacking. Again. This time regarding the Gintama manga. I haven't been following it lately... what a sad sad sad sad sad sad fan I am...

Anyway, this week we have newly-[Rumbel]subbed Gintama episodes! I was kind of wondering what happened to Rumbel.. their last Gintama release was more than three weeks ago... But then they came back with FOUR episodes, 84-87 --- covering the "Hard-Boiled" semi-arc and the Mitsuba arc. :D

I was really in a bad mood just a while ago, because of some stupid thing I wasn't expecting to happen. Oh well, goes to show you how well you can depend on your friends sometimes. But as I said earlier, oh well, too bad for me that my friends kind of forgot. :D

Even the manga didn't dwell on it much..] or the next really good part, which is the confrontation of Shika's group vs. Hidan+Kakuzu...

OMG, I FUCKING HATE THIS MANGA.

Ugh, the mixed emotions! I can't wait to see what happens next, but I don't want to part with it yet! Eyeshield21, for the past few weeks you've been steadily building up momentum, and in this crucial moment, I'm very happy to say that you really haven't strayed far from where you should be going. For that, I am truly able to say that I appreciate what's been going on in the manga..

This release, I think, had a lot of meaning to it. We see some more of Hiruma's emotional side - oh come on, those who didn't get that he was pertaining to himself in the Kurita-this, Kurita-that rant is an idiot - and his relationship with Musashi [and I'm not talking about the yaoi side here, people]. It seems to me like it's only with Musashi that Hiruma [sort of] lets down his guard, and it's only with Musashi that Hiruma seems to be so affected [case: his description of what "Kurita" did when Musashi left the team]. And this Hiruma seems more human, more tangible than the "normal" one - and I'd really like to recall that chapter where Hiruma tells Musashi that he didn't slaves, he needed companions.

Hiruma is a very complex character, isn't he? So cool and terror-inciting, yet sometimes very human. I wonder how he was like when he was even younger... say 7? I wonder about his father [is it really his father?], how he treated his son when he was younger, why Hiruma seems so cold towards his old man [his father, not Musashi, you yaoi fangirls], why Hiruma's the way he is... so much to know about the character, so little time...

Hm.. maybe we can attribute it to the anime? I haven't really been following the anime lately, so I wouldn't really know..

this week we see it - a way for Deimon to win! :O

The score is down to 44-42, in favor of Alexanders. The remaining time is 3secs, and it's a kickoff to be initiated by Deimon. It's a fatal fight for the ball - if Deimon gets it, they still get a chance to win.


And we all though Hiruma was just bluffing when he said they could still win against the Alexanders... XD


What's going to happen?! It's a catching battle once more between Monta and Taka - the one who catches the ball will be the victor, the ultimate catching genius (MAX)! And what about Sena?! Will he be able to beat the real Eyeshield21?! And what about Deimon?! Will they really win against the Alexanders?!

So many questions, so few chapters left!

The climax is upon us!

Oh dear dear dear.. Allen's in trouble!

It's a level four, and Allen's the only [upgraded] Exorcist around. Although he is with Kanda and Marie, it's still going to ba hard, even more so than with the last time he faced a level four. Even with [the upgraded] Lenalee's help, Allen still had trouble beating it - what more now that he's [only] with Kanda and Marie? D:

And what about Link! D: D: D: Oh dear, dear, dear.. Allen needs help, quick!

I've been slacking again. Sorry for that.

Well, actually, I've been busy this past few days. Had to attend a seminar/symposium last Saturday, got home very late. Then I overslept and ended waking up at 4PM the next day - which left me no time to update this blog since I had to get to the debut party by 4PM to have the rehearsal for the hosts.

If you noticed, I didn't make the practice. I arrived there at 6:30PM, and half of the guests had already arrived. No time for a practice or even a run down of the flow of the show. Had to wing it - everything - all on the spot.

I did good enough, if I do say so myself. XD

Anyway, I don't have pics. Some of my friends have [some pictures of me], but don't expect to ever see them. They will be hidden, I assure you. No need to put the world in a state of shock [and horror] by seeing my face with make up.

And so, after that lengthy rant, let's proceed to the updates:

I chose to get the release from another site [other than Naruto Central]. Not that I have a problem with NC or anything.. I just wanted to provide some other host for the release so people who can't download from Naruto Central can go there instead.

So anyway, this release is brought to us by SleepyFans, hosted by NarutoChuushin. Actually, the first Naruto site I've ever really followed closely was Chuushin. But for some time they disappeared [and I actually stopped following the manga because of that]. Fortunately, I discovered that the scanlating groups [at that time] had their own websites.

Eventually, I was able to find a way to download things from Naruto Central without the download getting corrupted. But now, I think I might go back to following Chuushin. -heart-

Since the anime has ended [OMG, WHUT?! Please see the next section for the anime], I'm going to be following the manga.

Anime followers who are planning to do the same but are too lazy to start from chapter 1, you can proceed to chapter 156. That's where the anime stops.

I got so annoyed with it, really. They vut it in a very convenient place, sure, but the suspense just killed me. Oh, and the shock. I wasn't really expecting them to cut it like that. It was too abrupt, I think.

Anyway, of course this is old news. The anime ended in September.. but since I only became a fan recently, I can be excused [I think].

So someone dies in the previous chapter. Who is it, I'm not going to spoil. But it's someone very important - someone you wouldn't be expecting to die. And did he even really die in the first place? Gah, that man really irks me.. Oh, but I love him too, if not only for his hair. XD

The manga isn't even finished yet! What's going on?!

Ok, I asked around a bit, and I've gathered a few very different views on it. Some say that the anime really is going to end there, some say there's going to be a continuation [like a season 2.. FMA cousin? XD], some say the final production will be a movie covering the last parts of the manga [so what, we''ll be waiting for it to end first before we get to see an animated version. Well, fuck. D:]..

Argh. This is so annoying.

I hate it when they do stuff like this. Why put the "FIN" at the end if you intend to make a season 2 anyway? Why not just say, "Till the next season, everyone." Or something shitty like that. Argh. I hate being in the dark about things, I hate it especially if we're left hanging like this.

I wish they would continue the anime. It was very cool, not to mention that the series just works better with both anime and manga versions available [not unlike Gintama, but that's another story].

I can't wait for the next chapter! Although it's nearing the end, the anime is really still going strong! I wish the anime were coninued up to this point.. D: It was a real waste cutting it right after the match with Oujou... We weren't able to see Hiruma and his prowess in the match after that [where Gaou broke his arm. D:], and of course we aren't able to see the Alexanders match.. D: Missed a lot, huh?


Well, at least there was an anime adaptation.. -sigh-

Not to say that I'm leaving the 8059 fandom or anything, it's just that 1859 would be the next best thing after 8059, so yeah... and we really can't have any 8059 interaction [coughfanservicecough] for the time being since [yama spent too much energy making love to the stupid wall-mistress of his] because they're both out cold...

So we turn to 1859 [cause it would definitely work since it's Hibapon who says it personally that he still owes Gokkyun for saving his life XD]... Gah, san anyone say OTP? XD


I wonder if the next chapter would give us more 1859? Or maybe Ryohei would finally appear in the TYL world? I really hope he would... I miss Ryoppu.. D:

And it would be really awesome for Kusakabe [did I get that right?] to have one less unconscious body to carry... XD I mean, he was carrying Ryohei + Gokudera + Yamamoto + Lal + Chrome, right? So if Hibapon carries [his waifu] Gokkyun, and if TYL!Ryoppu would switch with his younger self [and maybe carry Yamamoto? Or one of the girls.. or maybe both the girls, since that would be the EXTREME thing to do.. :D] and carry someone, Kusakabe would just be carrying two people, right? Right.
